"His Word was Sustaining Us"

SEPTEMBER 10th 2008

‘So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I send it.’ Isaiah 55:11.

Dear prayer partner,

Warm greetings to you in the wonderful name of our great Savior Jesus Christ

Our God is a God of Great possibility and realization. No matter how difficult it may seems He always has a way out. The ministry has been a little bit slack these couple of months. There were lots of trials in the families. We had to learn our lessons the hard way. His word was sustaining us all the way through. We praise God because we did not give up. As Job said it very beautifully ‘My redeemer lives. .’. I realized that unless I come closer to Him I will not know His perfect will in ministry. I am glad that the support of encouragement which was always there came from the church folks.

CHURCH -
As mentioned previously this is the harvest time for sugar cane in Mauritius and many fellow believers are field workers. They worked till very late in the evening and are dead tired. We found ourselves not being regular in prayer meetings even though we would like to.

My work schedule does not allow me to keep pace with church activities. We spend more time on Sundays interceding for one another in unity. I must say that I draw lots of support through our togetherness, sincerity and willingness to press on for the Master. This is our strong asset in the church. And I praise God for this wonderful gift of love and grace which makes it enjoyable for service.

INTERCESSION
We would value continually your intercession for Sister “M” and daughter “T” who are persevering in the Lord. She has not found a job yet. Her husband has become more tolerant these days. She request prayers for her parents who are followers and very much involved in witchcraft. We would welcome special prayers on their behalf since there has been a slight misunderstanding in their married life. I do not have any opportunity to minister to them as a couple. The Lord of host will take care. Your prayer support is very much needed.

My elder brother “S” had a relapse in alcohol couple of weeks back. The church got together to intercede on his behalf. We thank God he made a wise decision to quit toxic consumption. He requests prayers for him and his son “N.” He is showing deep interest for the word of God. His quest for the Lord is amazing. The Lord has provided a life partner for him to build his family once again. He would be baptized soon and God willing the church will host a simple wedding ceremony to accompany him in his Christian walk. Your prayers are valued.

I would also value your prayers for my younger brother “A” though he is a believer yet he has not been in any fellowship for less than two years now. I do encourage him but he often avoids me.

We also request prayer for “A and S’s” family. They strive with much hardship to remain faithful to the Lord. I have been visiting them regularly. They tend to be discouraged very quickly. They need a lot of your prayer support.

FAMILY
The family is keeping fine through His grace. Though there are some ups and downs but we persevere. My wife will be completing her hotel course by mid August this year. She is finding her job very tiresome and demanding. She has had some mild depression these couple of months back and is under medication. She can’t work night shift. Our children are growing in the Lord and they keep serving at the church as well. “K” has just completed the mid term exams and has come out 2nd in his class. “J’s” result was not bad. She requested that I do not publicize her results. She said that she will work harder next time scoring better results than “K.” They are very understanding and cooperative when it comes to difficult times. We praise God for our kids, their love and faithfulness.

PROJECT
We are seeking the Lord’s guidance and wisdom to know His perfect will as we are looking ahead to purchase a transport. The fact that ministry has taken a greater perspective and outreach is demanding more time and space we feel that the need for a transport would be a plus. We have started praying about that though we have no funds yet. If it’s God’s will we will go accordingly. Your prayers, discernment and advice in this regard would be much appreciated.

THANKS
We thank you very much for taking active and sincere interest in the ministry in Mauritius. We count on your usual prayer support to adventure deeper in His vineyard. Thank you for loving me, my wife and our Children. We know very well that your hearts is tuned and sensitive to our desire to be better servants in His ministry. There is no other joy that can compare the joy of serving the Lord. Halleluiah…we value your emails a lot.

We are very interested to know and fellowship with you regularly. Thanks once again for being our prayer partner….

Evidences of Prayer

April 17th 2008

‘Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.’ Matt: 11:1-14

Dear prayer partner,

Warm greetings to you in the matchless name of our great Savior Jesus Christ

No matter how dark the world may seem to us, there is a very strong ray of light that keeps shining everyday in the lives of people. The ministry of Jesus included the work of opening the eyes of the blind. In this age and time, in other words, our Lord has given us the gospel of the water and the Spirit, the true gospel that opens the eyes of sinners who are wandering in darkness.

PRAISE - Sunday gathering
The work of the Lord is fascinating, beautiful and challenging altogether. The theme of this newsletter could easily be “The power of prayer “. This year God has shown tremendous grace and power in the lives of His children. There is so much to say but to resume in one phrase would be “The lord has blessed His vineyard as promised…” I do realize that your prayer support has been instrumental in all these happenings. We say Glory to God, the sustainer and designer of our faith.

CHURCH
The spiritual health of the church is very encouraging. Believers are willing to go extra mile to reach out to perishing souls. We have regular prayer sessions and home Bible study to cater for those hearts in quest for deeper relationship with the Lord. I just love this little fellowship for their sincere spirit and commitment. God has bestowed a wonderful family in whom we find our delight. The good thing about this ministry is that we love one another with genuine love and that our hearts are true.

INTERCESSION
We would value your intercession for Sister (name deleted) and daughter who discovered the Lord a year back and has started coming to church regularly. She is in fact one of my colleague at work. (name deleted), her husband, opposes her decision and very often makes it difficult for her to attend prayer meeting. (She) keeps persevering. Her testimony is amazing. The day we offered her a Bible she just cried out of joy. God has His own ways to touch His children. She request prayer on behalf of her husband to accompany him together at the church. Recently she lost her job. She is desperate and would like to seek your prayers.

We seek prayer for my elder brother, (name deleted). He is divorced since two years now. He has a six year old son whom he sees on weekends only. He has embraced alcohol to overcome loneliness. This has led him into depression and high blood pressure. Two weeks back he had a major stroke and was hospitalized. I shared Christ with him and last week he came to church and confessed the goodness of God. What a miracle! He is in fact the last member of my family whom I have been praying since fourteen years now to come to the saving knowledge of Christ. Today he seeks prayers to obey God’s will and follow his promptings for his future. Once again God’s grace is just awesome. I bow before him in adoration and praise.

We also request prayer for (husband and wife, name deleted) and family. They are being severely persecuted for their faith by their very own. His brother in law is not only involved in witchcraft but has made it a profession now. Recently the wife tried to beat sister (name deleted) while she was coming back from work. She managed to escape. He tries all sorts of tricks to hinder the ministry there. The family is quite disturbed at present. Please remember this family in your valuable prayers. The Lord is faithful and will not allow his faithful ones to suffer beyond measure.

VISIT – Bro. Victor ministering
We were blessed by the visit of Brother Victor Anand Kumar. He comes to Mauritius to lecture at the University. During his visit he refreshed our hearts with encouraging ministry and prayerful concerns. We had a fasting and prayer meeting on Sunday 13th April. We interceded for the new souls that God is adding to the church. It was just wonderful to stay upon Jehovah and our hearts were filled.

FAMILY
I would like to thank God for His protection upon our family. His mercy in my work place has encouraged me to follow the steps of the Master in serving Him with more zeal. Devina has completed her two year course in Child Development Education. She is still working at the Hotel to sustain the family. She waits upon the Lord for guidance in the future. Our children are growing in the Lord and they keep serving at the church as well. Kemesh celebrated his 13th birthday at the church. Jincy is looking forward to do the same on September the 2nd. They are very understanding and cooperative when it comes to difficult times. We praise God for our kids, their love and faithfulness.
NEW FAMILY ADDED TO FELLOWSHIP
We would value your prayers for this new family. The husband’s name has lost his job and has three kids and his wife to cater for. This will be their second week to the fellowship. We are following them closely in prayer and regular visits.

CHURCH FELLOWSHIP
The church had a fellowship lunch last week after worship. It was a real time of sharing and encouragement for one another. We try to share our concern, worries and our strength to build one another in faith. It was a bring and share lunch and it was filled with agape.

Another birthday for our little one…

Warm greetings to you in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

PRAISE
We praise God for all our brethren who still believe that Christmas is all about God. Christmas is about giving and receiving--and most of all to honor the One who has freely given us every good and perfect gift. May we bring joy to Him this season, as we remember those who are less fortunate than ourselves? As we all know, but so easily forget, Christmas is not about the obligatory gifts hastily ripped open and often never used. It is about giving of our time, sharing of our memories and skills, and teaching others to do the same.

CHALLENGE
The spirit of Christmas is a lifestyle, not something that can be simply turned on during the holiday season. Even so, at Christmas I think we all yearn a little more to express God's love in meaningful ways to the world around us, and exalt the truth of Jesus Christ to those who do not yet know Him. A Simple Christmas brings these foundational truths of Christianity to the forefront of our hearts and shows us practical things we can do, not only to make the holiday more meaningful, but also the rest of our lives as well.

PRAYER
We thank God for the simplicity that reigns in the church at the moment. We are only preparing the way for the Lord to come. Our worship and devotions are reflections of the state of our hearts and our relationship with Him. We look forward to dwell in the holiness of our Lord for ever.

OUTREACH
Roshan and Hima keep nurturing the Good news club. We had an open day for the children to come and enjoy the spirit of Christmas for the first time in such an endeavor. The kids were very happy just as the Lord mentioned And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you he shall not lose his reward" (Matthew 10:42). Now that we have befriended the children we feel more comfortable to share the Gospel with the parents. This is a matter for prayer.

INTERCESSION
We would like to seek your prayers for Ravi and Reena who have shown interest for water baptism. They are being persecuted tremendously by their in laws. At one moment they had to leave the house in fear of severe uproar. We request prayers for this family.

FAMILY
God is taking care of our family. Devina has started working in the hotel industry. She has recovered from her depression. We praise God for our children. Kemesh who is doing very well in his studies and so is Jincy. They continue to serve the Lord. My work keeps me busy as usual. This is all because of His grace and mercy. We would like to thank all our prayer partners for loving us in the Lord.

PROJECTS
We are praying that this coming year would bring lots of new opportunities for service in His vineyard, more scope for evangelizing our nation and above all ministering to families who desperately need the Savior. I am praying for my own family to stand firm amidst adversities and frustrations. Seeking God’s guidance to nurture my children to grow in the Lord to be better witness in the future. Visiting broken families, delinquent youngsters and abused children. Our society needs the Savior today to be peaceful and prosperous. There is no other way. The world needs to know that Jesus is the ANSWER.

GIVING THANKS
We would like to thank you for your sincere concerns towards our ministry. Your prayers on our behalf have been answered in so many diverse manners. We stand in awe at His works. Thank you once again for being our friend.

May you have a wonderful end year celebration? God be with you and strengthens you for this coming year 2008.

From our family we send you lots of love.
